Wolverhampton Angling Association

Association πŸ“ WV1 West Midlands
UK Fishing Club Finder

Wolverhampton Angling Association manages a productive stretch of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal that runs through some of the most attractive canal fishing in the West Midlands. Members have access to canal fishing from Otherton Marina through to the A5 near Gailey, plus the popular Wombourne stretch between Dimmingsdale Lock and Botterham Lock, and water through Penkridge and Brewood.

The Staffs and Worcs Canal is well known for producing a varied bag. The association’s stretches hold carp, gudgeon, roach, chub, perch, and bream, with the Penkridge and Wombourne areas particularly well regarded. Anglers Times has previously highlighted the area for its all-round canal sport, with chub at Wombourne and good carp and bream around Penkridge.

Membership is accessibly priced at Β£20 for adults, Β£15 for OAPs and disabled anglers, and free for children under 16. Day permits are also available at Β£2.50, making this a particularly easy ticket to recommend to anyone trying canal fishing for the first time. Permits can be picked up from a network of local tackle shops including Ian’s Fishing Tackle in Penkridge, Anglers Peg in Chadsmoor, Allens Tackle, and Fatty’s Baits in Wolverhampton, as well as from the Bridge Inn in Brewood.
