Warwick and District Angling Association offers some of the most accessible and well-regarded coarse fishing in central Warwickshire. The association’s waters include the Racecourse Reservoir, where barbless hooks are required and large specimen fish are regularly reported, alongside additional coarse pools and river stretches that suit pleasure and specimen anglers alike.
Membership is sensibly priced at £17 a year and runs from May to May. Books can be picked up from Baileys of Warwick, Lanes of Coventry, and Tussells tackle shops, making it easy for local anglers to join up and get fishing without delay. The rules are relaxed but fish-care focused: unhooking mats are required for big carp, tench, pike and barbel; ground bait should be used in moderation, especially at the Racecourse Reservoir; and members are reminded to air-dry nets thoroughly between sessions to prevent disease transfer.
The association has a strong tradition of involvement with Environment Agency licensing and angling welfare best practice, and the committee is active in keeping waters in good condition. As a member you also need a current Environment Agency rod licence, available from the Post Office or online.
For Warwick, Leamington, and Kenilworth-based anglers, this is one of the best-value local memberships in the county.
