Telford Angling Association is one of the largest angling associations in the West Midlands, with over 20 venues spanning lakes, ponds, canal, and major river stretches in and around Telford and Shropshire. TAA isn’t a club in the traditional sense: it owns or leases waters that smaller clubs would struggle to manage individually, and then offers access through annual membership or day tickets.
The river jewel in the portfolio is the River Severn at Ironbridge and Buildwas. The Dale End Park stretch in the heart of Ironbridge is a long, deep section noted for silvers, chub, and pike, while the three Buildwas stretches (Sheep Fields, Lego Blocks, and Power Station) offer faster, rockier water where barbel is king. Stillwater venues include Holmer Lake, Madebrook Pool, Middle Pool, Randlay Pool, Tee Lake, Trench Pool, and Big Apley, holding bream, carp, pike, roach, and tench.
Adult membership is ยฃ35 per year, OAPs and disabled ยฃ15, juniors ยฃ5, with night permits available on selected waters. The association also runs Access to Angling sessions with Level 1 and 2 Angling Trust coaches, providing 1-2-1 tuition and tackle for newcomers wanting to learn properly.
NIGHT PERMIT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR 2026.
