Stratford-upon-Avon Angling Association controls some of the most coveted stretches of the Warwickshire Avon, in and around the town that gave the river its character. The association’s portfolio includes Seven Meadows, Stannells Meadow, Luddington, and Manor Farm on the Avon itself, plus a long stretch of the River Stour between Wimpstone and Preston-on-Stour and access to Hampton Lucy Brook, an offshoot of the Avon.
These are proper river venues with proper river fish. The Avon stretches hold strong populations of chub, roach, bream, perch, and increasingly good barbel sport in the lower reaches. The Stour and Hampton Lucy Brook offer a quieter, more intimate alternative for anglers who prefer to escape the busier town pegs. The Luddington stretch in particular has been showcased on aerial drone footage by the association, giving prospective members a clear sense of the variety of water on offer.
The association works closely with local tackle shops including Stratford on Avon Fishing and Outdoors, where membership and detailed water information can be obtained. The combination of historic river, well-managed access, and proximity to major Avon match venues makes this association one of the strongest tickets in south Warwickshire.
