North Staffs Angling Association is a community-focused club operating across the North Staffordshire area with a refreshingly broad mission, going well beyond just providing fishing. Their stated aim is to develop local waters, foster community spirit, enhance local living environments, and create unique recreational opportunities for everyone.
The Association acts as a guardian of local waters across North Staffordshire, leading on water clean-ups, habitat restoration projects, and the promotion of responsible practices including catch-and-release. Crucially, they’re actively building partnerships with schools, the Environment Agency, the Angling Trust, and other local organisations, recognising that the future of angling depends on sustainable collaboration, not just access. Family Days are organised throughout the year specifically to engage the community and encourage youth participation.
Membership fees are managed through Clubmate (a popular online fishing club admin platform), with full details and current pricing available there. The club maintains a partnership agreement with another local club giving members two additional waters to fish at no extra cost alongside their existing North Staffs venues, quietly excellent value for an annual membership. The committee is actively recruiting new members (both fishing members and committee volunteers) to help expand the club’s conservation and community work. For anyone in the Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire area looking to join a club genuinely focused on more than just fishing, North Staffs Angling is one to look at.
