Heronbrook Fisheries

Set in 25 acres of Staffordshire countryside just off the A519 at Slindon, two miles from Eccleshall, Heronbrook Fisheries is one of the most prolific match and pleasure venues in the country. The complex was designed and built from the ground up by owner Neil Dale, with the first lake the Specimen Pool, opened in 1994. Six purpose-built lakes followed: Match Lake (a 65-peg combined pool), Canal and New Canal (47 pegs), Bridge Pool (37 pegs), Island Pool, and Meadow (45 pegs).

Heronbrook is home to one of the largest competition circuits in the UK, regularly hosting the UK Individual Championships, Maver/AT Pairs Qualifiers, Shakespeare AT Advanced Masters, the Army Nationals, NFA-organised Fishomania heats and the Veterans National. From April to October, club bookings often fill the calendar two years in advance, match weights have exceeded 300lb, with the venue producing carp to 20lb alongside huge heads of F1s, barbel, chub, tench, bream, roach, perch, and crucian carp.

Day tickets are available year-round, with summer hours from 8.00am (7.30am at weekends) through to 7.30pm. On-site facilities include a five-star café with 120-seat capacity, a tackle shop, fishermen’s toilets with full disabled access, and platforms suitable for wheelchairs across all banks. Barbless hooks only, no trout pellets, and all nets must be dipped, the rules are tight because the standards are too.
