Formed in 1946, Aberdeen & District Angling Association (ADAA) is one of the largest and most successful angling associations in Scotland, with approximately 700 members and access to over 30 miles of prime river fishing plus two productive stillwaters. The Association was established after the Second World War to provide local residents with affordable access to salmon and trout fishing, a founding principle that still defines its membership model today.
ADAA owns or leases fishing on the Rivers Dee, Don, Feugh, and Ythan, covering some of the most iconic salmon and sea trout water in the country. The Dee needs no introduction; the Don offers excellent fly water; the Feugh is a spate tributary of the Dee famous for the salmon leaping at the Falls of Feugh; and the Ythan was once the premier sea trout river in Britain and remains a unique venue with extensive fishings around Methlick, Ardlethan, and the tidal Machar Pool. Membership runs from 1st February to 31st October for salmon and sea trout, and 15th March to 15th October for brown trout.
The Association also owns the Loch of Loirston and Millpond Fishery, both stocked with quality rainbow and blue trout and open to angling 365 days a year. ADAA membership includes free exchange tickets with Inverness AC, Loch Achonachie AC, Beauly AC, and Kirriemuir AC, plus a 15% discount on flies and tying materials with Granite City Fishing. A joining fee applies; juniors fish free under certain conditions, and members can take a guest fishing day each year.
