Sheffield & District Angling Association is one of the established fishing clubs of South Yorkshire, with roots in the proud angling heritage of the steel city. The Association represents a network of clubs and members across Sheffield and the surrounding area, with fishing access spanning urban canal stretches, river beats, and reservoir waters across the Don catchment and beyond.
The wider Don catchment offers some of the most surprising fishing in the country, with Salmon & Trout South Yorkshire holding fly fishing rights on the upper Don from Wharncliffe to Hazelhead, a stretch that has benefited enormously from decades of catchment recovery work. Members can typically expect to fish for chub, roach, dace, perch, gudgeon, and trout across the Association’s varied waters, alongside grayling on the smaller stillwater and stream venues.
Sheffield’s match fishing tradition is deep, local anglers have been competitive on the national circuit for generations and the Association continues to support both pleasure and match angling across its membership. For the latest membership rates, water list, and contact details, visit the club’s website or get in touch directly. Sheffield Area Secretary Brian Clarke is a long-standing point of contact for anglers looking to access urban Sheffield fishing.
