Reservoir
Blithfield Anglers is the trout fly fishery operating on Blithfield Reservoir, one of the most iconic stillwater trout venues in the Midlands. Set close to the village of Abbots Bromley in the heart of rural Staffordshire, the 790-acre reservoir is owned by South Staffs Water and offers over 11 miles of superb bank trout fishing, alongside excellent top-of-the-water sport from a fleet of motor boats.
The entire Blithfield Estate is designated SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). Recognised as a special place with parcels of ancient woodland, a wide variety of flora and fauna, and habitat for wading and over-wintering wildfowl. Fishing here is set against one of the most ecologically protected backdrops you’ll find on any UK reservoir, and the conservation ethic runs through everything Blithfield Anglers do as a fishery.
The fishery offers genuine flexibility on permits: full-day and flexible 4-hour options for casual visitors, alongside a range of season permit packages with associated benefits for regulars. Whether you’re an experienced reservoir fly angler chasing rainbows on the boats or a bank angler looking for one of the most scenic stillwater fly destinations in the country, Blithfield delivers. Contact: 01283 840284 or anglers@blithfield.com. The fishery is easily accessible from Stafford, Burton-on-Trent, Lichfield, and the wider West Midlands.
